Windows XP and Vista

Learn about the parts of the computer and the operating system by examining the desktop, using My Computer, format and copy a floppy disk, understand the task bar and multi-tasking, work with toolbars, use the start menu, configure the desktop, use Web-style content, explore desktop themes, shutting your system down.  Learn how to create a folder structure for a company, create and rename folders, copying, moving, and deleting files and folders, the recycle bin, scheduling system maintenance with system tools, create shortcuts, understand help, examine Windows XP accessories, use drawing tools and the calculator, previewing and printing files.

MS Word Introduction 

Understand how to create, format, save, and preview and print a document. Learn keyboard shortcuts, use borders and shading, work with autotext, headers & footers, tabs, automatic page numbers and styles.  Format your documents using indents, breaks and spacing, insert columns and numbered lists.  Incorporate Graphics into your document including using the drawing toolbar and text boxes. Create and format tables. Formatting techniques, create an interest in your text using word art.  Prepare a document for the Web, use Hyperlinks and Send a Document Via E-mail, print envelopes and labels.

MS Excel Introduction

Understand the concepts of a spreadsheet. Learn how to enter and edit data, work with columns and rows, create formulas and functions. Use cutting, copying and pasting, move cells and use fills.  Understand cell references using relative, and absolute references.  Format your worksheet, adjust rows and columns, format numbers, align and format text, use borders and shading. Create and modify charts. Understand worksheet printing, setting up headers and footers, setting print titles and options and setting print areas. Work with the help feature and use drawing tools.

MS PowerPoint Introduction

Learn how to create presentations by using the AutoContent Wizard. Learn to create and edit slides working in the outline pane, and note pane. Use slide masters. Try out different design templates. Adjust headers and footers and auto numbering. Add clip art and drawing shapes to your finished product.  Understand how to make and add information to tables, format text, delete slides, use slide sorter view to rearrange your presentation, create and preview transitions, view your finished presentation in slide show view, print handouts.

MS Access Introduction

Understand Database objects, learn about tables, move and adjust columns and rows, enter data, use AutoCorrect, sort and delete records, find and edit records. Use the table wizard to create a simple table, rename and add fields, and add table relationships.  Work with forms, create AutoForms, sort your data using filters, create and modify queries and find duplicate records. Work with reports, create AutoReports, Groups/Totals Reports and single column reports. Save time by using the database wizards, AutoFormat and create shortcuts.

MS Outlook Level 1

Understand E-mail, create and send a message as well as replying, forwarding and recalling messages, work with attachments, and print messages. Use the mail management tools, sort mail messages and manage junk mail messages.  Create new contacts, edit contact information and use contacts with mail. Work with and print a calendar, use a calendar to schedule and change appointments. Enter and update tasks, view and organize tasks. Learn how to move, send, and organize notes.

QuickBooks  Introduction

Use the integrated features, start a new company file, entering balances, setting up payroll, add new customers, use customer statements, work with invoices and payments, adding vendors, use purchase orders and pay bills, pay an employee and the owner, generate W-2s, pay sales tax, reconcile accounts, generate reports, balance sheets and graphs.

Microsoft Publisher

Creating and saving new publications, work with layout guides, using text frames, work with borders, rotate, move, layer and group objects, create vertical headlines, copy and modify text, work with graphics. Work with tables, insert tables, adjust rows and columns, merge cells. Use the tools such as WordArt, the design gallery, applying Border Art and copying from another publication and printing.
